The charming city of New Orleans, Louisiana, lies between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain. New Orleans is also home to many colleges and universities such as the University of New Orleans, Tulane University of Louisiana, Loyola University, Southern University of New Orleans, and Xavier University, just to name a few. New Orleans most known event is Mardi Gras or Carnival which takes place 2 weeks every February- March and brings millions of tourist to the city. New Orleans encompasses every essence of a city full of life, entertainment, culture and diversity.
Jefferson Parish surrounds the inner city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Jefferson Parish is located about 8 minutes from the Superdome, Central Business District and French Quarter. Jefferson Parish is home to 2 casinos, 4 hospitals, 3 Shopping Malls, Lake Pontchartrain, Pontchartrain Center Convention Hall, and the Armstrong International Airport. The New Orleans Zephyrs stadium is in Jefferson Parish along with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints practice facility. Jefferson Parish is host to several cultural and heritage festivals, in addition to several Mardi Gras Parades. Mardi Gras attracts 8 Million people (February through March).
